
Transform empty egg cartons into adorable chicks and colourful flowers with this creative and educational Easter craft.
This hands-on activity encourages fine motor skills while teaching toddlers about colours and shapes.

Materials Needed
- Empty egg cartons
- Acrylic paint (yellow for chicks, bright colours for flowers)
- Paintbrushes
- Googly eyes
- Orange and green construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Paper straws or green pipe cleaners (for flower stems)
Step 1: Prepare the Egg Carton Cups
- Cut individual cups from the egg carton.
- Trim edges for neatness.
Step 2: Make the Chicks
- Assemble the Body
- Glue two cups together, open ends facing each other.
- Let them dry completely.
- Paint the Chicks
- Paint the assembled body yellow and allow it to dry.
- Add Features
- Glue on googly eyes.
- Cut a small orange paper triangle for the beak and glue it below the eyes.
- Optionally, attach small orange paper feet.
Step 3: Create the Flowers
- Shape the Petals
- Cut individual egg cups and trim the edges into petal shapes.
- Paint the Flowers
- Use bright spring colours and let them dry.
- Attach Stems
- Glue a paper straw or green pipe cleaner to the base of each flower.
- Add Leaves
- Cut leaf shapes from green construction paper and glue them onto the stems.
Step 4: Create a Festive Wreath (Optional)
- Cut a wreath base from leftover egg carton cardboard.
- Decorate as desired.
- Glue chicks and flowers onto the wreath for a cheerful Easter display.
