Transform empty egg cartons into adorable chicks and colourful flowers with this creative and educational Easter craft.

Materials Needed

Step 1: Prepare the Egg Carton Cups

  • Cut individual cups from the egg carton.
  • Trim edges for neatness.

Step 2: Make the Chicks

  1. Assemble the Body
    • Glue two cups together, open ends facing each other.
    • Let them dry completely.
  2. Paint the Chicks
    • Paint the assembled body yellow and allow it to dry.
  3. Add Features
    • Glue on googly eyes.
    • Cut a small orange paper triangle for the beak and glue it below the eyes.
    • Optionally, attach small orange paper feet.

Step 3: Create the Flowers

  1. Shape the Petals
    • Cut individual egg cups and trim the edges into petal shapes.
  2. Paint the Flowers
    • Use bright spring colours and let them dry.
  3. Attach Stems
    • Glue a paper straw or green pipe cleaner to the base of each flower.
  4. Add Leaves
    • Cut leaf shapes from green construction paper and glue them onto the stems.

Step 4: Create a Festive Wreath (Optional)

  • Cut a wreath base from leftover egg carton cardboard.
  • Decorate as desired.
  • Glue chicks and flowers onto the wreath for a cheerful Easter display.
