Step 1: Prepare the Handprint
- Cover your workspace with newspaper or a protective sheet.
- Use a paintbrush or sponge to apply white paint to your toddler’s palm and fingers, excluding the thumb.
- Press their painted hand firmly onto the coloured cardstock, fingers pointing upward.
- Lift their hand carefully and allow the paint to dry completely.
Step 2: Add Bunny Features
- Once dry, use pink paint to create the bunny’s inner ears and nose.
- Use black paint or a marker to draw the eyes, mouth, and whiskers.
- If preferred, glue on googly eyes for extra cuteness.
Step 3: Preserve and Decorate
- Laminating Option: Use a thermal laminator to protect the artwork for years to come.
- Flower Bouquet Display: Attach a paper straw or craft stick to the bottom of the handprint to create a standing bunny decoration.
- Personalised Touch: Write your child’s name and the date on the artwork for a special memory.
Step 4: Try Variations
- Construction Paper Cutouts: Trace your child’s hand onto white construction paper, cut it out, and assemble the bunny on coloured cardstock.
- Canvas Keepsakes: Instead of paper, press the handprint onto a canvas for a more permanent piece.
- Gift Idea: Frame the artwork as a thoughtful Easter gift for family members.
